At the the Chaffee County Planning Commission’s Tuesday, June 26, meeting, planning commissioners will consider a proposed amendment to the Chaffee County Land Use Code that would adjust the location of sound readings for kennels to 300 feet from a residence on rural land.
The current code directs noise readings to be made on the property line, as is done in municipal neighborhoods. The amendment, originally proposed by Larry Payne in September and raised again by Payne at the March 22 county commissioners meeting, is the last item on the regular meeting agenda. The Planning and Zoning Dept. staff recommendation was not included in the public packet.
The Planning Commission will convene a work session at 4 p.m. Agenda items include a discussion of changes to the section on campgrounds and recreational vehicle parks, and a discussion of changes to the use-specific standards for vacation cabin rentals. Also scheduled for the work session is a discussion on a change to the definition of “ditch owner” in Article 3 of the Right to Farm and Ranch section of the land use code.
The Planning Commission’s regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and focus on four public hearings. The first public hearing will consider a major impact review for a cabin-tent campsite project proposed by Richard Krupicka at 26832 CR 310, Buena Vista. This will be followed by a public hearing on a sketch plan for the Tremarctos Minor Subdivision, managed by Ben Kahn and located north of the Fawn Ridge Subdivision. The plan would subdivide 9.6 acres into three lots.
A third public hearing will address a sketch plan for the Love Family Minor Subdivision proposed for 7551 CR 141.
