The Chaffee Clerk and Recorder’s Office received 259 ballots back on Friday for the Chaffee County Primary Election, for a total of 1,889 ballots returned to date. The pace is slow, which may indicate that the county’s voters aren’t quite engaged in this primary season.
Friday’s returns broke out as follows:

Registered Republicans 545
Unaffiliated (UAF) 628

Primary Election Day is June 28. Important dates between now and then:
- Monday, June 20, 2022 Last day a voter can submit a voter registration form/update of registration and still receive a ballot or replacement ballot in the mail.
- Monday, June 20, 2022 Voter Service and Polling Center opens in Salida at the Scout Hut.
- Monday, June 27, 2022 Voter Service and Polling Center opens in Buena Vista at the Community Center.
- Tuesday, June 28, 2022 PRIMARY ELECTION DAY – Polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. [All mail ballots must be received by the County Clerk by 7:00 p.m.]
