In the wake of a surge of cases of COVID-19 locally, Chaffee County Public Health and several community stakeholders have scheduled a virtual town hall meeting to address concerns and provide new information.

The town hall will take place on Friday, Oct. 23 at noon and will be available on ZOOM and Facebook Live.

“The trends we are seeing in Chaffee County and Colorado are alarming,” said Chaffee County Public Health Director Andrea Carlstrom. “The risk of transmission is increasing, and I am concerned that if we do not make thoughtful and proactive decisions now, we might jeopardize the ability to continue in the Level 2 of the Safer at Home (statewide health) order. Friday’s town hall will highlight various strategies to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community,”

The town hall will include representatives of Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, the Chaffee County Board of County Commissioners, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Solvista Health and local school districts.

The general public can submit questions ahead of time to Andrea Carlstrom at acarlstrom@chaffeecounty.org by 5 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 22.
