Chaffee County Public Health has announced that it will hold a virtual town hall at 3 p.m. Friday March 13 on Facebook Live to provide further education, updates, and answer any questions they can regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019).

The town hall will feature several healthcare experts from our community on a panel discussion including representatives from Chaffee County Public Health, Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, Chaffee County Emergency Medical Services, and Solvista Health. They will be answering questions on how Chaffee County can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses as well as how to be prepared for a local outbreak.

The town hall will be recorded and shared with the local media.

“At the time of this press release, there are no positive cases of COVID-19 in Chaffee County,” said Director of Chaffee County Public Health Andrea Carlstrom. “However, we want our community to have the latest information and resources regarding COVID-19 and a venue to ask questions about this active situation. Because social distancing is a proven strategy to prevent the spread of illnesses, especially COVID-19, we have decided to try a live virtual town hall format. There are measures that we can all take now to help prevent and be prepared for COVID-19,”

Town hall planners are working to secure sign language and Spanish interpretation at the event. The event will be streamed live on the newly created Chaffee County COVID-19 Facebook page.
