Remembering veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country, members of Salida American Legion Post 64, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3820, and Lt. Harry T. Ostrum Jr. Detachment No. 1420 of the Marine Corps League conducted Memorial Day commemoration ceremonies at Fairview Cemetery May 30.

Ceremonies were also conducted at Veterans Memorial Park at U.S. 50 and 285, and at the upper cemetery in Poncha Springs.

The remembrance included the singing of the national anthem, prayers, and short speeches were concluded with a three-volley rifle salute and the playing of Taps.
