As of the end of the day, Oct. 23, Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder Lori Mitchell report that a total of 1,748 ballots have been returned. This represents 12.4 percent of the county’s 14,056 active voters.

The Salida School District board candidates on the ballot are running unopposed. They include Jennifer Visitacion in District 2, Joe Smith for District 4, and Joel Mcbride for Board of Education Director-at-Large.  There are no candidates for District 1 and District 5.

The Colorado Mountain College Salida School District Annexation question is on the ballot for the Salida School District, as Ballot Issue 5A.

The Buena Vista School Board has seven candidates running for four seats. Only one, Suzette Hachmann, is running unopposed for District C.

Stacy Moss and Nathaniel Weeks are candidates for Buena Vista District A; Nancy Best and Jessica Crites are candidates for a two-year, At-Large seat; and Brett Mitchell and Tracy Storms are running for two four-year At-Large seats. Suzette Hachmann is running unopposed for District C. Storms is currently an At-Large incumbent, and Best currently serves as the District C representative.
