The city of Salida is hosting the three finalist candidates for the city administrator position from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the SteamPlant Event Center annex.

The event will provide an opportunity for citizens to meet and talk to the candidates for city administrator and will include light refreshments.

Chosen from 45 applicants, the three finalists are:

• Eric Hallstrom of Minneapolis, Minn.
• Drew Nelson of Winter Park.
• Jason Wells of Green Mountain Falls.

Hallstrom is the deputy commissioner of Minnesota Management and Budget. He holds a master’s degree in law from Georgetown University, a J.D. from the University of Iowa and a bachelor’s from Augustana College.

Nelson worked for the town of Winter Park from 2006 to 2018, serving as town manager for the last 10 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and holds a planning certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners.

Wells currently serves as the interim town manager of Green Mountain Falls. Prior to this position, he served as the city administrator for Manitou Springs from 2014 to 2018. He holds a law degree from the University of Denver, a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado.
