This declaration states that the Mayor may declare a state of emergency if he feels that the general health, safety and wellness of the city’s inhabitants are threatened. On March 13, after consulting with the Chaffee County Health Department, the declaration was approved thus implementing the City of Salida COVID-19 Action Plan.

As the first declaration comes to an end, the city’s view is it is imperative to extend the Local State of Emergency and continue to follow the Action Plan protocols.

The agenda also includes the second reading of Ordinance 2020-07 concerning Salida’s Short term rentals, and a discussion of Financial Relief for Short Term Rentals for Healthcare Workers.
