The City of Salida Public Works Department is reminding residents and visitors that construction season is upon us again, meaning it will begin work on its 2022 roadway and utility capital improvements all across the city. “We look forward to improving our City streetscapes with the completion of these projects,” reads the city’s information notification.
Two major construction projects are at the top of the city’s list:
- Roadway reconstruction of 12th Street has been initiated near J Street. This work will take several months to complete as work progresses east to New Street.
- Street reconstruction of 10th Street from J Street to D Street is scheduled to occur this summer. Milling and overlay work along with chip sealing at various other locations is anticipated to occur during this time.
Each of these projects is expected to mean periodic street closures and detours established throughout the course of construction with limited access to local traffic.
