According to the city posting,

“In consideration of the safety of staff and the traveling public, and based on the continued wintry weather, reduced visibility, and snowy forecast for the remainder of the day, all non-essential City of Salida facilities and offices, including the Hot Springs Pool, will be closed to the public today, Wednesday, February 15.

The City anticipates returning to normal business operations tomorrow, Thursday, February 16. Updates will be shared with the public as soon as possible if that changes.”

City Public Works crews were out early this morning on the main streets downtown, with business owners on F Street working hard to clear the sidewalks to accommodate locals and visitors our walking their dogs and window shopping or looking for a hot meal.

AVV  reached out to the Town of Buena Vista (BV) and Town of Poncha Springs and learned that those town offices are still open. Snow depths are informally reported as four to five inches in BV while in Poncha, snowfall is closer to what Salida is experiencing.
