“Yesterday, September 23, a student in crisis left the high school facility. Staff attended to the student’s needs until the situation was stable. Simultaneously the police responded and determined that extra layers of security were best until the circumstances were fully known. At no time was the student body in danger. At no time was a weapon involved. We will continue to err on the side of caution until we have all of the data necessary.”
The school district confirmed that there was no gun at any time, and no one was in danger. The police, including the SRO (School Resource Officer), did increase safety until the police were satisfied there was no potential danger, choosing to be cautious as the circumstances developed and was resolved.
