Colorado Mountain College – Salida Campus held its 2022 commencement ceremony at the Salida SteamPlant Theater Saturday morning, granting certificates and degrees.
The keynote speaker was Angel Rowell, president of the Salida Business Alliance. Rowell also sits on the CMC Salida Advisory Board where she was instrumental in the annexation of Colorado Mountain College’s district into Salida. President and CEO of Colorado Mountain College Dr. Carrie Besnette Hauser, Ph.D. represented the CMC leadership team.
Family, faculty, and staff then gathered outside for riverside photos on the beautiful spring day. Among those in the crowd were liaison to the CMC Board of Trustees David Armstrong, Associate Dean of Academics and Student Affairs Rob Simpson, and Associate Professor – Business Steven Stewart, Ph.D.
As is the custom these days, only a portion of the graduates attended in person, with others already working or traveling. While graduation is surely a milestone, this commencement is only the next step in their life journey.
