The traditions of the West will be on full display this weekend when the Collegiate Peaks Stampede and Rodeo returns to Buena Vista on June 11 and 12. As this more than century-old tradition arrives for the 101st time, cowboys and cowgirls of all ages are gearing up to show off their skills atop horses, steers and, yes — even sheep.

The Colorado Professional Rodeo Association-sanctioned rodeo (CPRA) will feature all the crowd-pleasing bronc and bull wrestling events include: bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and saddle bronc riding. Team roping and bare-back riding skills, plus kids mutton bustin’ (under 50 pound limit) and CPRA junior bull riding (over 50 pounds).
