Next weekend, on July 7 and 8, the Salida Chamber of Commerce and the Colorado Brewers Guild will host the Colorado Brewers Rendezvous, a get-together of more than 65 breweries from across Colorado that dates back to 1995.
The Colorado Brewers Rendezvous is highly regarded by brewers and enthusiasts throughout Colorado. This year, it will feature hundreds of craft beers and take place at Salida’s SteamPlant Theater and Riverside Park.
On Friday, July 7, the Pre-Vous event will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the SteamPlant Theater. Attendees can taste-test craft beers that will not be available at the main event the following day. Admission to the Pre-Vous is $70, which covers unlimited beer tastings, a commemorative glass, and light food fare.
The main event will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8, in Riverside Park. General admission tickets cost $60 and include unlimited tastings, a commemorative glass, and access to all food vendors. VIP tickets are priced at $120 and offer the same benefits as general admission, along with early entry at 1:00 p.m., a private shaded seating area, and private restrooms.
Salida locals have the opportunity to purchase specially-priced tickets at the Salida Chamber of Commerce. These tickets are priced at $45 and are limited to two per household. Proof of residency is required, and payment can only be made in cash or by check.
“The Colorado Brewers Rendezvous is unlike any other festival because we have so much history here in Salida,” said Executive Director of the Colorado Brewers Guild, Shawnee Adelson.
“Brewers look forward to this event every year and love coming to Salida so chances are you’ll see the brewers themselves pouring your beer,” she added. “Combine that with the scenic views of the Collegiate Peaks and all that Salida has to offer and there really isn’t anything quite like this festival.”
According to Adelson, the idea for the rendezvous event originated when brewers attending the 1995 Salida Beer Festival decided to have an impromptu meeting of guild members. The Guild was particularly impressed with the scenic beauty and camaraderie during the gathering, leading them to establish the Rendezvous as a recurring event.
