The Colorado Outdoor Equity Board’s first meeting will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 19.

The board was created by House Bill 21-1318, and it is made up of people that represent communities that have faced barriers to accessing Colorado’s outdoors.

The board will give a financial overview and will discuss spending authority, a timeline of their grant cycle, the grant outline and deliverables, and an upcoming meeting schedule. There will be time for public comment at 3:00 p.m.

The public can attend the virtual meeting by registering on this form.

This board is also responsible for governing the Outdoor Equity Grant program.

Grants will be awarded to organizations and/or applicants that will directly implement grant funding to engage eligible youth and families helping reduce barriers to Colorado’s outdoors.

Eligible organizations will be involved in creating pathways for formal or informal outdoor conservation or offering outdoor-based educational opportunities involving Colorado and the environment.
