Solvista Health is the newest member of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Colorado Spirit Program. The program provides free COVID-19 counseling and support to local communities. The pandemic has caused massive impacts both economically and emotionally on many creating the need for additional support. Solvista will use the Colorado Spirit grant to help those most in need. Counselors can be utilized as a listening ear, connection to resources or as a coach for developing coping skills.

Adding other disasters such as wildfires and hurricanes coupled with the pandemic can lead to people feeling overwhelmed, scared, tired, depressed, anxious, angry as well as a whole other host of emotions. Solvista staff say they want people to know this is normal and it is okay to not feel okay during these uncertain times.

Solvista Health will host two Community Engagement calls with community members and leaders from Custer, Fremont, Lake and Chaffee County. The purpose of the meetings is to gather feedback which will be used to help identify the highest areas of behavioral health needs. This information will also help the team develop targeted support.

COO of Solvista Health, Mandy Kaisner said “Our first priority upon receiving this opportunity was to ask our community partners what they are seeing and experiencing locally. We are fortunate to be part of very dynamic communities with people who really care about supporting one another and want to be involved.”

Services provided through the Colorado Spirit program are confidential, free and do not require enrollment in Solvista Health services. Those who are feeling stressful impacts due to COVID-19 are encouraged to reach out. Contact Solvista Health at 719-275-2351 and ask for the Colorado Spirit Support Program.
