The candidate event (dubbed by some as “Beers with Brittany”) is scheduled for Eddyline Brewery at 102 Linderman Ave. in Buena Vista. County residents are invited to stop by and ask her questions and find out where she stands on issues.

Pettersen, who calls herself  “a mom and a fighter,” was born and grew up in Jefferson County, Colorado. She has been honest about her middle-class family’s struggles and says she believes her access to good public education helped her succeed when she could easily have been defeated by circumstances.

The new Colorado Congressional Districts are the result of the 2020 Census and include a new, eighth District. The newly redrawn Seventh District includes Chaffee, Lake, Fremont, Custer, Teller, Park, Clear Creek and Jefferson County:

Pettersen served 10 years in the Colorado Legislature, passing the nation’s strongest Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Colorado’s Red Flag law, and the Secure Savings Act. As Chair of the House Education Committee, she shepherded historic investments in the state’s public schools and worked across the aisle to get it done.
