What a difference 24 hours makes. As of the end of the day on Monday, Oct. 4, Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder Lori Mitchell had received 5,922 ballots, representing a 42 percent response from Chaffee County active voters. More voters continue to stream in today to drop off their ballots.

The county has 14,103 active voters on its rolls. During that same time, voters in the Salida School District appeared to take more of an interest in the general election, which features a Salida School District annexation question on the ballot. The Salida School District voter turnout stood at 44.1 percent response by the end of Nov. 4

It is not too late to vote today. Polls for the General Election remain open until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5. The county has four voting locations, with information about the locations available here.
