Last  Thursday, Feb, 4 the law firm of Cain & Skarnulis filed an amended complaint in the case related to Dr. Eric Coomer, Vice President of Dominion Voting Systems who was accused by former President Donald Trump, members of his family, his attorneys, and by Trump supporters, of rigging the voting systems against Trump in the 2020 election.

Ark Valley Voice covered the impacts on Coomer on Dec. 21, a Chaffee County resident who had to go into hiding due to the death threats against him. The next day, Cain & Skarnulis PLLC filed a law suit against Trump and his surrogates, claiming irreparable harm from libel and slander against Coomer’s name, his work, and his livelihood.

The complaint includes 13 additional pages of allegations against virtually every defendant, but it especially focuses on new allegations and specific false quotations made by Newsmax, Michelle Malkin, Eric Metaxas, and Joe Oltmann.

Oltmann, of Colorado Springs, has founded a nonprofit and media business known as FEC United, for the alleged purpose of building a political movement “to preserve freedoms he perceives as threatened in the United States”. His allegations included efforts “to uncover and reveal Antifa activists conspiring against Oltmann”, and presumably efforts against Trump and his followers.

Among the boogiemen Oltmann alleges sees under his bed: Coomer’s voting system technology work in his role at Dominion must have been set to award Biden the votes that should have gone to Trump. He has alleged that Coomer must be in league with”Antifa” and put forth the false idea that Antifa members are embedded in the fact-based mainstream press corps to report negatively on his organization.

Fact check: It should be pointed out that every single allegation of voter fraud in nearly 70 court cases brought by Trump surrogates following the Nov. 3 election, has been thrown out of court. Christopher Krebs, appointed by Trump to oversee election security, has gone on record to confirm that “the 2020 U.S. election was the safest election in history.”

The 66-page amended document updates the court on the conduct of the parties since Coomer’s initial filing, including various events surrounding the January 6 insurrection against the United States Capitol, and Oltmann’s speech to the crowd on the eve of the attack. It also highlights new defamatory statements from various defendants that have occurred since the time of the original filing.

The amended complaint builds on the original complaint’s conspiracy allegations; highlighting the actual ties between the defendants, and drawing the court’s attention to other figures peripheral to the complaint who also played a key role in spreading the conspiracy theory.

Most of the examples in the amended document involve episodes where Oltmann was a broadcast guest, spreading his story about what he calls an “Antifa conference call.”

The document outlines examples such as an entire episode of Malkin’s Newsmax show, Sovereign Nation devoted to falsehoods about Dr. Coomer. One example:

Malkin: The reason why this is so alarming, and it’s obvious, but it should be spelled out, is that this is one of the highest-ranking officials at Dominion Voting Systems, which has penetrated our election system across the country and of course, around the world . . .
Oltmann: He truly is the mastermind . . .
Malkin: As a reward for the whistleblowing and the recording that you’ve done, you were banned on Twitter, or suspended. Tell us about that . . .
Oltmann: I decided I was going to come forward, put all of the information forward, call out Eric Coomer specifically. As soon as I did that, you caught wind of the story, you posted it, people started following me on Twitter, I started releasing even more information that I had, and Twitter came back and said that I had multiple Twitter accounts that I was using to harm others.

Meanwhile, Malkin was tweeting almost daily about Coomer, with hashtags like #Antifa and #whereisericcoomer.

Conservative radio show host Metaxas had Oltmann on a dedicated episode of his show:

Metaxas: When you’re smart enough to get a Ph.D. in nuclear physics, it reminds me of the Unabomber. There are some people that uh, their learning, or rather their brains will flirt with insanity and violence. It sounds like you’re dealing with somebody who at least begins to fall into that category. We know that Antifa is evil, that they are anti-American, that they are effectively Marxist shock troops at this point. But to have a man with this kind of power, the Director of Strategy and Security at Dominion, huge, powerful, international company.

This is big news . . . I mean, this is globalist stuff. This is everybody’s worst nightmare of deep state, George Soros. The idea that a man of this level, at a place like Dominion, which is operating all around the globe in elections, which got started in Venezuela, that somebody like that who despises America. You know, if you despise America, by definition, you become allied with these globalist forces, which are effectively fascist, Marxist, you know. That this guy has this kind of power, I mean, it’s scary, even just having this conversation with you and thinking about this . . . The idea, the idea, that anyone would dare to try to mess with our elections, many patriots have died, suffered, and died, so that we can have what we have.

Chanel Rion on OAN:

“In Coomer’s case, he was in a position of power to actually act on his rage against Trump and Trump voters. What does he mean when he says ‘Trump won’t win. I made f-ing sure of that.’ Nothing?”

Fact check: not a single one of the allegations by these Trump surrogates has been shown to be based on fact. They do appear to be perpetuating the myth that Trump somehow won the election and that 74 million Americans have been disenfranchised . This is not true. Oltmann, Metaxas and Malkin all refuse to admit that Trump lost, and that Joe Biden is president after more than 81 million voters elected him as president.
