Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity plans to host two sessions on “Emergency Preparedness 101” from 9 to 10 a.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the Cornerstone Church located at 7410 CR 140 in Salida.

Judy Somers will conduct presentations on items one may need if given just 10 minutes to evacuate. Also featured is a presentation by Buena Vista and Salida NAPA Auto Parts Owner Brad Craig on the 10 most important things to ensure you’re safe during winter travel.

Those who attend will learn how to be prepared long before an emergency happens. Workshop organizers say it aims to walk through the steps families in Chaffee County can take to be better prepared if a disaster strikes.

There is no cost to attend, however, space is limited. Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity is asking those interested in attending to RSVP by Nov. 15 by calling (719) 395-0482 or email coordinator@chaffeehabitat.org.
