Among the items on the agenda for the Chaffee County Board of Commissioners May 8 meeting are event public hearings, consideration of another major subdivision, consideration of a requested amendment to the county’s definition of “outfitting facility,” and liquor license reviews.
Commissioners will hold two event public hearings, one for a special event permit fee waiver for the Tails on the Trails 5K Walk/Run and another for the Spiral Drive Run.
Commissioners will review the sketch plan submitted by Arthur Dean Cozart for the Cozart Estates major subdivision to be located at 14300 U.S. Highway 50. If approved, it will divide 50.68 acres into eight lots, each a minimum of 2.3 acres.
The development would include a proposed 7.97-acre open space area, and lot design has been done to protect visual impacts. If approved, water augmentation certificates will be purchased before the plat is recorded. Drainage setbacks from Weldon Creek are to be shown on the plat.
Liquor license renewals will be reviewed for Cliff Hangers Inc., the VFW, the Collegiate Peaks Golf Course and Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Country Store (3.2-percent beer on premises).
A requested amendment to the definition of “outfitting facilities” in the Chaffee County Land Use Code will be discussed. The Planning Commission has requested approval to conduct a work session on the topic prior to issuing any recommendation. Meeting notes provided to commissioners specify that the current definition in the Chaffee County Land Use Code does not define “outfitter.” It defines “outfitting facilities.”
