Fading West Job Fairs Focus on Positions with Four-day Work Weeks

Fading West, the modular home manufacturer that has just completed its new home manufacturing plant in Buena Vista is hosting two job fairs, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, and again on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at their factory on the south end of Buena Vista.

The 110,000 square foot state-of-the-art housing manufacturing facility is expected to provide 100 skilled construction and production jobs in Chaffee County and may produce up to 700 homes each year. Among the living wage positions the company is interviewing for are their engineering team, supply chain team, building systems team, and construction team.

The full-time jobs are three to four-day work weeks, with 401k plans and extremely competitive pay. Workdays will be 10 hours (7:00 a.m. to 5:30 pm), Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with the ability to gain a fourth or fifth day via an “on-call list.” There is also the possibility of “flex” scheduling with the opposite shift.

In locating the manufacturing facility here in Chaffee County, Fading West Development CEO Charlie Chupp, fulfilled a commitment he had made to himself and the community, where his first project was The Farm in Buena Vista.

“Our mission is to create attainable housing. We had The Farm already. We created it as affordable enough for the community’s workforce,” Chupp explained. “We love being part of Chaffee County and bringing jobs here. We want to replicate The Farm in other Rocky Mountain communities.”

The company says that it is gearing up for a weekend factory shift that will start in the fall and they are hiring for all factory positions, from production specialists to factory leadership. Even the weekend shift will include the company’s full-time Benefits Package.
