Dr. Stuart, a Colorado native, pursued his medical career in family medicine after positive family experiences and support from mentors, according to HRRMC’s press release.

“I chose family medicine with the goal of caring for and serving a small Colorado community,” said Stuart. “My goal as a family physician is first to support all members of the community in remaining healthy and living their best lives.”

Stuart reportedly approaches illness with the goal of providing a prompt, accurate diagnosis to transition to treatment or referral to the appropriate specialist. He focuses on shared decision-making with patients so that they can collaboratively determine the next best steps for their health.

“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Stuart to our medical staff,” said HRRMC CEO Bob Morasko. “With his thoughtful approach and primary care and commitment to serving our community, he will only expand BVHC’s ability to provide the highest quality of patient care.”

Dr. Stuart received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha Nebraska and completed his residency at St. Mary’s Family Medicine in Grand Junction.

Buena Vista native Dr. Anna Jones, M.D. is Stuart’s wife. She also provides family medicine and primary care at BVHC.

When not on the clock, David Stuart enjoys outdoor activities, such as cycling, running, skiing, or playing disc golf.

Members of the public with questions or who wish to make an appointment with with the new doctor can call BVHC at 719-395-9048.
