The Foodshed Alliance in partnership with Ark Valley Helping Hands has created Farmers Feed Chaffee, a pilot food program that is a direct response to COVID-19 and the community’s accessible food demands. It’s audience; senior citizens and those with health issues or compromised immune systems needing help acquiring food in a safe manner.

Foodshed Alliance will provide fresh, local farmer’s market ingredients while Ark Valley Helping Hands distributes to at-risk elders who have more challenges leaving home to acquire meals.

Organizers say this collaboration highlights both the organization’s strongest assets and is in direct response to Chaffee County Community Foundation’s Food Access Cohort Program.
