After having to cancel last week’s free food distribution due to stormy weather, the food will be delivered and distributed this week beginning at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at the Salida Community Center located at F St. and Third St.
The Salida Community Center serves the entire Chaffee County area, including Salida, Buena Vista, Nathrop, Howard, Cotopaxi, Coaldale, and surrounding areas.
The food includes meat, canned goods, fresh vegetables, bread, and pastries, and the Colorado Central Humanists will be handing out items such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and toilet paper.
The Salida Community Center will be handling the TEFAP program administered by Care and Share out of Colorado Springs.
