On Monday, April 6, Salida Public Works Department began road repairs throughout downtown Salida. F Street and G Street from Sackett Avenue to Third Street are expected to have periodic closures for the next two weeks.

The schedule was accelerated due to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic situation. With only a small number of  stores open, hardly any pedestrians and  few cars on the street, the overall goal of limiting business disruption can be achieved thanks to social distancing and the Governor’s Stay At Home Order.

Numerous locations will undergo reconstruction including roto milling and overlay with specific point repairs to sidewalks curbs, gutters and crosswalks.

Projects included are Blake Street, G Street parking and pedestrian improvements from Sackett to First.  Third and Fifth Street work is projected to start in late April and run  into May. Blake Street will be periodically closed throughout the project which is expected to last until fall.
