The Salida City Council is having a work session tonight at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Touber Building, 448 E. First Street. The first item on the agenda is a presentation from Ehlers Public Finance Advisors on the City’s 10-year financial management plan, which includes a discussion of how to finance major capital projects coming up in that time period, the largest and soonest of which will be the City’s new fire station.
A discussion of the fire station itself is the second item on the agenda – specifically, a review of alternate types of energy options to power the station, since the geothermal system originally planned for the structure seems to not have sufficient well capacity. The Board’s packet report includes cost-benefit analyses of the alternate types of energy, including an all-electric system, a natural gas-fueled system, or a hybrid approach.
A complete packet and agenda, including instructions for remote access, can be found here.
