The new Public Health order effective November 20 aligns Lake County with the state’s Orange level restrictions and includes:

  • Discouraging public and private gatherings and on site business operations from 10:00 p.m. 5:00 a,.m. to reduce group gatherings that have been identified as higher infection risk activities
  • Encouraging remote work and staggered shifts for all business sectors to reduce number of people working together in-person
  • Limiting private gatherings to 6 people from 2 or fewer unique households; this 6 person group limit includes group sizes seated together at restaurants and allowed at the start/finish areas for sporting events

The Lake County Courthouse and City Hall will be closed to the general public from November 23 to December 4 as a precaution since the county has moved to Orange.

Both facilities will be open by appointment only. Those who have business to conduct are encouraged to contact that department directly to make an appointment or facilitate business over the phone or online. Contact the Court Offices at 719-293-8100, extension 9 for assistance.

Community members are reminded to practice good hygiene and thoroughly wash one’s hands with soap and water. In the absence of soap and water, use hand-sanitizer. Use a tissue, one’s elbow or sleeve to cover coughs and sneezes. Stay home when sick and keep children home if they are sick. The county also asks community members to pledge their commitment to COVID-19 containment.
