Andrea Carlstrom, Chaffee County Director of Public Health, confirmed Wednesday that a fourth and fifth person have tested positive for COVID-19 infection.
The fourth latest case was identified only as a 72-year-old male, who had traveled out of the country.
Carlstrom said the fifth case was identified as an 80-year-old woman, who is a resident of Columbine Manor in Salida, the second patient to be tied to Columbine.
Prior cases were identified as a 46-year-old man who had traveled out of state. The latest cases as well as a 69-year-old man and an 84 year-old man previously identified are under investigation to determine their recent movement and whom they may have had contact with.
Health officials said they were working with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in investigating the implications for the facility and the community.
Information will be updated as it becomes available.
