If the electronic “stuff” that has accumulated at your house or business during the pandemic has built up to the point where you need to clean house, there is a local solution. From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on September 11, Chaffee County residents are encouraged to participate in the countywide free e-waste recycling event.

The event will be held at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds. Electronic items accepted include:

  • Computer monitors
  • Computers and accessories
  • Cell phones
  • Printers
  • Tablets
  • Hair dryers
  • Curling irons
  • Electric shavers
  • Small lawn care electronics
  • Televisions (for a $25 fee)
  • And any small household or business electronic devices that plug in or run-on batteries

The event does not accept:

  • Ovens and stoves
  • Fridges
  • Microwaves
  • Dishwashers
  • Water heaters
  • Freezers
  • Washers
  • Dryers
  • Gas and electric grills
  • Any other large appliances
