With the holidays underway and the Omicron variant of COVID-19 surging across the state, Chaffee County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has set up an extra COVID testing day from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30. Testing is free.
Those who would like to be tested for COVID-19 should fill out the form below. Only one person per car needs to fill out the form regardless of how many people are in the vehicle.
Testing will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Chaffee County EMS, located at 10364 CR 120. Please enter on Ashby Lane (the sign blew down – it is the dirt road West of the EMS station.)
Chaffee EMS asks that you not show up early as there is limited parking available at the EMS location.
Testing will be Rapid Antigen only.
Masks must be worn.
There is a limit of five cars per 15 minute slot. If a time slot is not shown, that means it is already full.
If all time slots are filled, Chaffee EMS asks county residents to check back as they will add more slots if these slots fill and more testing slots need to be set up.

Thanks to the county for providing testing. I really hope that if those in our local area wake up to the need to test and wear masks. Nobody we have to deal with regularly takes this issue seriously at all and are still not wearing masks or requiring them at my partner’s very busy place of employment and have not made or kept any changes to keep people distanced or to keep numbers down in their business. As an person with a deficient immune system it is frustrating since last week they all had a ‘cold’. They avoid testing and reality by simply ignoring it and these otherwise friendly and caring people do not seem to be concerned about any persons beside themselves and the inconvenience that has been imposed on them in violation of ‘their rights’. If we do the testing, the county cannot simply ignore the results. I hope they are ready to deal with them properly and not with the usual head in sand and opportunistic gentrification they seem to use all unfortunate events to increase.
Too bad that the right-wingnuts do not see that they are killing their own people with all of this lunacy over the government trying to prevent their illness and death. Darwinism can be a good thing.
