Public Tree Pruning Workshop Scheduled at Chaffee County Fairgrounds

Early spring is tree-pruning time. The Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) is offering a free tree pruning workshop from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds.

Kamie Long from the CSFS Urban and Community Forestry program will provide insight into the principles of structural pruning for homeowners who would like to learn how to properly prune their young trees to encourage good growth. The morning session will be in the classroom, with the afternoon in the field.

Lunch will be provided. The class size is limited to 20 people. Reservations can be made by calling 719-539-6447 or by stopping by the CSU Extension office at the fairgrounds at 10165 CR 120 in Poncha Springs.
