In an announcement on Wednesday, The Fremont County Department of Public Health and Environment (FCDPHE) has announced that it now has an increased capacity for testing members of the community who are experiencing any symptoms of the coronavirus known as COVID-19. A testing site has been set up at the FCDPHE Building 201 N. 6th St. in Cañon City, CO available on:
Mondays from 1 -3 p.m.
Wednesdays from 8:30 -11:30 a.m.
The FCDPHE cautions that this testing site will continue to be by appointment only and it will not take any unscheduled people for testing. It is so emphatic about appointments that the press release noted that “Anyone who shows up without an appointment will be sent away.”
Appointments will be for patients that are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 as determined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC).
Appointments can be made Monday-Thursday 7 a.m.-5:00 p.m. by calling 719-276-7450. The testing site will be run by FCDPHE with support from the Fremont County Office of Emergency Management. and Canon City Police Department.
