The Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA) has launched its Ninth Annual Photo Contest, capturing all the beauty that inspires GARNA’s work.

Photographers will have a month to submit their photos. Everyone can vote on their favorites for the People’s Choice Award, and a panel of experts will also judge and give feedback on photos.

Each entry and each vote is a donation to charity, as GARNA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Photo Contest Categories:

Water – Images that convey the water and watershed that GARNA works so hard to protect.
Wildlife – Images of wild creatures and their habitat that GARNA has worked to conserve since 1996.
Pollinators – Images of our ever-important pollinators: birds, bats, butterflies and bees!
Color – Wildflowers, fall trees, winter contrasts and more that inspire GARNA’s education, stewardship and sustainability efforts.
Sky – Capture everything from Stratus to Cumulus, white and fluffy or pink and moody, stars and more!
This year also features youth specific entry options for each category for those under 18 years old.

Come November, GARNA will be offering photos from the Upper Arkansas Valley for purchase as holiday gifts.

GARNA still needs a few more volunteers to help with its 6th Grade Field Trip on Thursday, Oct 13.

Contact Cat Anderson at programs@garna.org if you are available to help!
