The Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA) will host a community event featuring Ark Anglers fishing guide, Scot Bealer on Sunday, March 3 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Buena Vista Community Center, 715 E. Main. Bealer will be recounting his back-country adventures, ‘fish tales’ and wildlife encounters during his career as a fishing guide.

Bealer, who has explored and fished in the Colorado Rockies since the 1980s, has been featured in Sports Illustrated, Fly Fisherman and Fly Rod and Reel. Many of these articles showcased his adventures in the wilderness. Bealer, however, says many of his finest memories were made with overworked and stressed-out clients who just needed time to experience nature.

Bealer’s presentation will be accompanied by stunning images from Leah Frye; a professional wildlife photographer and also his wife. Frye is committed to wildlife photography and often ventures off-trail and waits for hours in search of the perfect photograph.

Event tickets are $3 for GARNA members and $6 for non-members. Questions should be directed to GARNA at 719-539-5106.
