As the year comes to a close, the Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA) announced that they had their best Colorado Gives Day ever. They also had a successful annual fundraiser with their Environment Hero Awards.

In a message to the community, GARNA thanked the community for the support over this past year. GARNA says that they will be able to start 2021 off on strong footing thanks to the support they have received.

Every Friday at 11:00 a.m. GARNA will host the opportunity to Ski with a Naturalist. Those who wish to participate are asked to meet at the Ski Naturalist sign in front of the Ski Patrol headquarters at Monarch Mountain.

Participants will then be taken on a 45-minute tour on all green runs where they will learn about heritage of the ski area, watershed, geology, forestry, wildlife and sustainability at Monarch. There is no sign up required, guests are just asked to meet at the designated location.

GARNA 2021 calendars are available now and feature photos submitted by the community. Photos from their photo contests are also available as notecard sets, printed on a canvas or metal prints. Click here to learn more.

GARNA’s offices will be closed December 31 and January 1 in recognition of the New Year.
