Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed a package of bills, Thursday, May 23 passed by the Colorado Legislature to combat the state’s opioid crisis. The five bills constitute a coordinated effort to address growing concerns over substance abuse. Ranging from prevention measures to substance disorder treatment for inmates in the criminal justice System.

The package of bills was signed by Polis in a ceremony this afternoon at Sobriety House in Denver. They include:

SB19-008 – Substance Use Disorder Treatment In Criminal Justice System;

HB19-1009 – Substance Use Disorders Recovery;

SB19-227 – Harm Reduction Substance Use Disorders;

SB19-228 – Substance Use Disorders Prevention Measures;

SB19-219: Sunset Continue Licensing Of Controlled Substances
