Salida Aspen Concerts will kick off its 43rd season of summer classical music concerts in collaboration with the Aspen Music Festival at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 in the Salida High School Auditorium with a piano recital by Grammy-Nominated, Joyce Yang. The concert follows a pre-concert talk beginning at 6:45 p.m.

The box office will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be available for purchase for $20. Students kindergarten through 12th grade are admitted for free with an accompanying adult, and an adult accompanying a student may purchase one discounted ticket for $10 at the door.

A recent press release provided by Steven L. Johnson, Esq., board member of Salida Aspen Concerts, Inc. gave an excerpt on the background on Yang, the performer:

“Ms. Yang, who was born in Seoul, South Korea, moved to the United States in 1997, where she graduated from the Juilliard School and received the School’s Arthur Rubinstein Prize (2010) and William A. Petschek Piano Recital Award (2011). She is a popular returning artist to the Salida Aspen Summer Concert Series, and Salida Aspen Concerts is pleased to feature her recital as this season’s first classical music concert.”

Yang’s concert is the first concert of a six-week concert run for the Salida Aspen Concerts.
