Rusty Granzella and his wife, Tangie, celebrate election victory for Chaffee County Commissioner.
In a race that stayed close all evening until the last hour, Rusty Granzella (Republican) edged out Kimberly Parker (Democrat) for the open District 3 Chaffee County Commissioner seat. While all voting results will remain conditional for eight days while the votes are cured, Granzella’s current votes are 5,852 to Parker’s 4,959 votes.
“Well just for tonight, I cannot say thank you enough to the voters of Chaffee County,” said Granzella. “I’ll spend my next four years doing the best I can to keep Chaffee County our loved home and our beautiful valley – and keep our young people here for a future. Although these are economic good times in general, I know it’s a tough time for our young families and workers and employees. It’s a struggle for many.” Granzella also praised his opponent. “I want to add, she ran a well-ran campaign – a good campaign – I know she is a hardworking lady.”
