Hannah Harn has been named the Truth Has a Voice Intern at Ark Valley Voice. Her assignment will be to focus on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the communities of the Arkansas River Valley.

Harn is a recent cum laude graduate of Boston University where she majored in journalism and minored in Spanish. While in college she worked for the Boston University News Service as Podcast and Production Director following a stint as the Assistant Managing Editor, published weekly stories, podcasts, and audio stories. During college, she interned for the Christian Science Monitor and completed an internship for the Irish Catholic Newspaper in Dublin.

Harn is the fourth intern at Ark Valley Voice in its not quite three years of existence. This internship represents the next chapter of internships at this digital news organization; one that would not have been possible this year due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The internship experience is funded by the Truth Has a Voice Foundation, a Colorado nonprofit, which applied for a grant from the Chaffee County Community Foundation.

Harn, who grew up in southern California, now lives in Buena Vista. Her association with Chaffee County began years ago when her family would vacation here. She has spent summers as a river guide on the Arkansas River and this summer worked at 100 Elk Outdoor center in Buena Vista.

Harn is also one of the many 100 Elk staffers engaged in supporting the Leadville School Districts student cohort programs funded by Great Outdoors Leadville. She commutes four afternoons a week to Leadville to continue teaching the kids within their student cohorts as the school district adheres to its COVID-19 education plan .
