At the April 9 Colorado Broadcasters Association annual conference and gala on April 9, Heart of the Rockies Radio received 16 awards for its broadcast work. Included in the awards was the prestigious Station of the Year honor for KWUZ-FM Hippie Radio 97.5.

“Great people make for great local radio and I’m proud to say that we are surrounded by great true local broadcasters,” said Heart of the Rockies Radio President and Chief Operating Officer Gary Buchanan. “Sixty-nine Awards of Broadcast Excellence and twice selected Small Market Station of the Year in the last eight years –I am very proud of the team at Heart of the Rockies Radio group in Salida.”

The awards handed out on Saturday night included:

Ark Valley Voice (AVV) congratulates Heart of the Rockies Radio on the awards. As a four-year-old digital news media platform, AVV has already won nine Colorado Press Association (CPA) awards of excellence in the past two years of membership in the CPA.
