Due a positive COVID-19 test at Sacred Ground Coffee on Hwy 50 in Salida, High Rockies Cuisine is temporarily closed. They say they decided to close their doors as a precaution and await further guidance from Chaffee County Public Health.
The action by High Rockies Cuisine represents a responsible approach to mitigating the spread of COVID-19.
Owner, Justin Kurpa explained “we were unsure of what to do when we found out that Sacred [Ground] was closed. It was headed into a holiday weekend and Public Health was unavailable; we knew that we did not have any exposure to anyone within Sacred as we are self sufficient but we do dump our grey water in Sacred’s mop sink after hours when all employees are gone.”
“We talked to Wayne Urbonas the health inspector who assured us that we could reopen safely. As we were adjusting our days that we are closed anyway we decided that we would reopen on Thursday, assuming it feels safe,” Krupa continued.
“We are incredibly COVID aware and want to ensure that we are taking every precaution in order to keep the health of our community and our family safe.”
