The recent radio auction to benefit the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center Foundation will help buy needed personal protective equipment for healthcare workers and patients.

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center.

Heart of the Rockies Radio, including stations The Peak 92.3 FM, Eagle Country 104.1 FM, and Hippie Radio 97.5 FM participated in auctioning a Men’s Electra Cruiser Bike provided by Absolute Bikes, certificates to local golf courses, a Citrine jewel necklace, a load of ACA gravel, and a succulent plant garden donated by Hittle Landscape Architects.

“We netted $2,520, which is more than I anticipated,” said Foundation Director Lezlie Burkley. “It was a lot of fun and we appreciate the support of the community.”

All proceeds will go toward the purchase of HRRMC’s COVID-19 equipment (COVID-19 tests/swabs, masks, gowns, thermometers, etc). To date, HRRMC has spent $37,000 for COVID-19 test kits and swabs, $25,000 for masks (staff and patients), and $12,000 for gowns.

For those interested in making a donation to help offset the cancellation of the Jewel Ball this year, checks can be sent to the HRRMC Foundation, P.O. Box 429 Salida, CO 81201.
