Colorado Central Telecom has announced that it has added two telecommunications industry veterans to its leadership team as part of a broader strategic effort to advance its business and technical operations.

The addition of Chip White and Darin Grad provides 50 years of combined experience to Colorado Central Telecom’s senior management. Both are former Texas-based broadband solutions providers with Affiniti, LLC.

Chip White has assumed the role of Vice President of Business Operations for Colorado Central Telecom. White is leading initiatives to optimize operations, expand managed services and drive sales across growth sectors. He has more than three decades of experience in the telecommunications industry, most recently as Vice President of Sales – Western Region at Affiniti, where he managed sales teams providing broadband solutions across the education, government and healthcare markets.

White provided his thoughts on his new role, “Colorado Central Telecom is well-positioned to grow its presence in the enterprise broadband and managed services sectors.”  He continued, “I’m confident we’ll be able to maximize Colorado Central Telecom’s growth potential while continuing to fulfill its mission of bridging the digital divide for rural Coloradans.”

Darin Grad will oversee improvements designed to improve the quality and reliability of Colorado Central Telecom’s broadband network. He has worked on the technical side of the telecommunications industry for the better part of two decades. As self-described “hands-on technical leader”, he brings a broad swath of technical knowledge to Colorado Central Telecom, having led the creation of national telecommunications networks at Affiniti.

Grad spoke about joining Colorado Central Telecom’s team, “It’s been a pleasure to work with Colorado Central Telecom’s dedicated team. We’ve already made an amazing amount of progress and are on track to meet our performance objectives.”

White and Grad led the original team that developed Affiniti Network Assure and will play a crucial role in its product development roadmap at Colorado Central Telecom.

Colorado Central Telecom CEO Ralph Abrams said, “Since Chip and Darin joined us this summer, it really feels like we have the people in place to help us realize our full potential.” Abrams added, “Their proven track record brings a new level of technical and business acumen to our leadership team. Together, they have already led a successful initiative to stabilize our network core — an effort that’s improved service for all our customers.”

Colorado Central Telecom provides last-mile broadband internet service to business and residential customers throughout Chaffee and Lake counties, as well as VoIP phone systems and managed services for regional enterprise clients.

In addition to the recent hires, Colorado Central Telecom has expanded into the managed services sector with the acquisition of Affiniti Network Assure, a monitoring tool that leverages predictive analytics to improve the performance of networks for enterprise clients in the healthcare and government sectors.

According to Colorado Central Telecom, the managed services market is forcast to reach a value of $61 billion in 2024, up from $40.5 million in 2018. Small and medium businesses will drive growth in the managed services sector as they seek to improve operational efficiencies. Proactive network monitoring, like that provided by Affiniti Network Assure, reduces the burden on IT departments amid increasing security and compliance needs.
