John Cameron, owner of the Book Haven in Salida and co-author of Ski Patrol in Colorado, released a statement this weekend via video on the importance of participating in the 2020 Census.
He reminds people that Salida is a thriving community but representing one’s self and family is important for the whole city and to Chaffee County. The census helps to guide the financial planning for the entire county and all its municipalities.
Accurate representation is key in allowing continued success within the community for both individuals and businesses alike. This year, with both a pandemic impacting activities, and the recent announcement that the government is closing census registration a month early, on Sept. 30, participation is more important than ever
