Salida’s community radio station, FM 106.9 KHEN, will host its fall fundraiser The Tenderfoot Mountain Kaper, Saturday, Nov. 3rd at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds. The show begins at 7 p.m., and doors open at 6 p.m. for an optional family-style dinner of KHEN’s famous chicken noodle soup, bread and drinks.

The production will showcase local talent – musicians, comedy acts, dramatic scenarios and Foley artists – and make radio come alive onstage in the style of “A Prairie Home Companion.” Community members are invited to join the live audience and enjoy music from the House Band, Salida Brass, Pint and a Half and Salida A Capella.

There will be a cash bar and donations will be accepted for food. Tickets for this brand new, one-of-a-kind event ($10 per person or $30 for a family) are available at KHEN, 123 E. Third St., or at the door.

At 7 p.m., Rooster Noir will narrate a whodunit story about the disappearance and alleged stealing of the giant white S on Tenderfoot Mountain. The caper plot unfolds throughout the evening.

Audience members are encouraged to submit “shout outs” upon arrival – notes about anything from birthdays to special announcements that will be read onstage.
