Chaffee County has one last chance this year to get local training in th Envision Recreation Impact Monitoring System app. The training to be presented by the Colorado Mountain Club has been organized by the Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA). This final training within the county will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug.. 13 at the Poncha Springs Town Hall.

According to GARNA, the training could be invaluable to the organization, preparing volunteers to help land managers collect essential data on trails, campsites and visitor use through CMC’s new RIMS Mobile Application!

Interested residents can download the app today for basic access here www.cmc.org/Conservation/RIMSMobileApp.aspx.

Monitoring features are only available to volunteers who attend training this year as a Beta -Tester! Volunteers can sign up for training to get access to the full monitoring capabilities in the app or download the basic version to track personal activities on public lands.

GARNA encourages reservations for the Envision Recreation Impact Monitoring System app training session and also reminds Chaffee County residents that it has moved its offices to 209 E 3rd St. in Salida.
