Dear Salida Ranger District Communities,
The Salida Ranger District Forest Service employee’s association would like to thank all the local businesses, partners, volunteers and community members who reached out to us during the government shutdown. The shutdown was difficult for everyone to some degree, and our community was quick to step up and offer assistance for employees who were directly affected.
We’ve always known we are part of a strong and supportive community, and the unfortunate experience of going through such a lengthy shutdown has only confirmed this belief. As public stewards of your National Forests, we strive to meet the need of current and future generations. Your support during these tough times sparked much-needed inspiration to carry out the mission of our agency. All the acts of kindness and well-wishes were truly appreciated.
