Thank you to everyone who helped make Baba’s Magical Christmas a great success again this year!
There are many individuals and businesses whose participation allows Baba’s Magical Christmas to continue their mission of anonymous giving. The program has grown each year, providing gifts and essentials to many in our community.
Special thanks to the downtown businesses, Kaleidoscope Toys, The Book Haven,Salida Mountain Sports, and Corvus Clothing and Curiosities for putting up the tiny giving trees. Each tree tag had a specific item specially selected, by volunteers, to match the individual recipients. Those shoppers who visited the trees, pulled a tag and purchased a gift were instrumental to the program. Thanks to each and everyone of you!
In addition to the gifts (which are wrapped by volunteers), the program received a generous grant from the Salida Sunrise Rotary Club, and many individuals made cash donations, food donations and gave their time wrapping presents. Our cash donors make shopping for winter clothes, coats, boots and other necessities possible.
Thanks to all the Secret Santa shoppers, and gift wrappers who were so generous with their time and money.
For the second year in a row, there were amazing cookie bakers who baked over 80 dozen cookies and treats for the families. This year each family was also sent home with a container of chili for a special holiday meal.
The gifts and food boxes were delivered to the Salida Fire Department, where families come, at their appointed times, for gift delivery and treats.
To everyone throughout this amazing community who helped make this happen. Thank you for always saying “yes”. We know we achieved success hearing about the faces of gleeful children and grateful parents.
