Dear Editor,

This letter is in response to Mr. Reed Dils’ letter of November 16.

350 Central Colorado is a legitimate 501(c)(3) organization doing important work in Central Colorado for the last eight years. Our mission is to save life on this planet as we know it by trying desperately to reverse the effects of climate change, in whatever way we can.

As our research has shown us, Nestlé is one of the biggest corporations contributing to climate change around our planet. Knowing how Nestlé operates, we do not wish Nestlé to do business in Chaffee County, a county working on going green and being friendly to our environment.

Having said this, I will say we do not “hate” Nestlé nor do we wish their employees ill will. In fact, we wish them healthier jobs in a healthy environment.

I remember the Nestlé bunny commercial [Nesquik] from when I was a kid. I loved it. No indeed, we do not hate but we wish this corporation to change its business practices to be more friendly to the health of our environment.

Both Greenpeace and Sierra Club have come out with campaigns against Nestlé . So I think being a card carrying member of these groups is a feather in one’s cap.

We do have many members in case anyone is interested. However, we do not share our list as we respect the confidence our members have shown us.

I do have one question. As Mr. Dils signed his letter and ended with President, Friends of Browns Canyon does that mean Friends of Browns Canyon is endorsing this letter? Just something I would like clarified as I write this letter in my own words and name but being a member of 350 Central Colorado.

Wow, what a struggle this is . Let us all remain friends and neighbors through it.

Most sincerely,

Kay Parker
